ATLANTIC COUNTY STILL AWAITING DECISION TO OPEN UP ISLANDS

Atlantic County and local emergency management officials are working to finalize a re-entry plan for the barrier island communities of Brigantine, Atlantic City, Ventnor, Margate and Longport. Approximately 65,000 Atlantic City Electric customers remain without power throughout Atlantic County and numerous homes sustained flooding and other storm damage. Officials cannot give the all clear until they can ensure that towns are safe and homes are inhabitable. At this time, access to the barrier islands remains restricted
