A Bergen County man found dead Thursday afternoon behind an unoccupied house on South Berlin Avenue in Galloway Township died from two gunshot wounds to the face. Authorities are seeking suspects in what has been ruled a homicide.
Leandro A. Rodriguez, 36, of Hackensack, suffered a gunshot wound below his left eye and another to the left side of his face, according to results of an autopsy performed last night by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood who was substituting for the County Medical Examiner. Notification of next of kin has been made, Prosecutor Housel said.
Galloway Township detectives responded to 542 South Berlin Avenue at 1:36 p.m. Thursday afternoon for a report of a deceased male. Upon arrival, detectives located the victim in the back yard of the home and notified the Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, who responded shortly thereafter and are conducting the investigation.
