ATLANTIC COUNTY ANNOUNCES FLU SHOT CLINICS

Flu shot clinics have been scheduled in Atlantic County. Beginning Saturday, October 1, the Atlantic County Division of Public Health will provide flu shots for individuals 18 years and older at 11 public flu clinics throughout the county through November 16.

The 2011-2012 flu vaccine will protect against the three influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the season. This includes an influenza A (H1N1) virus, an influenza A (H3N2) virus, and an influenza B virus, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

The fee for the flu shot is $15, however, there is no out-of-pocket fee for Medicare Part B recipients who present their card. Pneumonia shots are also available to eligible residents 65 years and older.
