ATLANTIC CITY MUST REDUCE SPENDING BY $10 MILLION

A new state management team recommends that Atlantic City trim its operating expenses by $10 million.  An emergency management team sent to Atlantic City issued its first report on Tuesday saying the city needs to cut spending and close a $101 million budget gap that will begin on July 1st.  A 20 to 30 percent reduction in the city’s overall workforce is entirely possible.  The report stopped short of suggesting bankruptcy for Atlantic City.
