ATLANTIC CITY MAYOR OUTLINES STEPS TO CITY’S ECONOMIC RECOVERY

Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian hosted a public hearing on Tuesday to discuss the city’s progress on a debt-recovery plan. The Mayor used a slideshow presentation to reveal the number crunching so far, and told the audience that the city needs to cut $60 million in debt by 2018 to avoid a state takeover. The mayor says the plan is to cut the city’s annual debt service payment by $10 million and seek bids on city services, including trash and recycling collection, payroll services, and parking enforcement.
