Toll collection on the Atlantic City Expressway will be done by private workers. The South Jersey Transportation Authority voted in favor of privatization during a Tuesday meeting. This will allow for lower paid workers to be brought in to collect tolls on the state’s roadway. Early estimates say up to $1 million could be saved in the move. Many experts believe the job of toll collector will be gone in the near future, as video systems are implemented more and more.
