ASSEMBLY BUDGET COMMITTEE TO CONSIDER BUDGET AND CAP LEGISLATION

The Assembly Budget Committee will meet Thursday and Friday to consider legislation associated with the proposed state budget and to cap property tax increases at 2.9 percent annually. A budget compromise has been agreed upon by party leaders and Gov. Chris Christie. Christie wants a constitutional 2.5 percent cap on property tax increases though. The committee will convene 10 a.m. both days.
