AFL-CIO TO SUPPORT POSSIBLE STRIKE IN ATLANTIC CITY

On Tuesday the president of  New Jersey’s AFL-CIO said his group will support a possible strike by casino union workers on July 1st. Charles Wowkanech says he hopes a strike will be averted, but will support the Unite Here Local 54 if they go pout on strike at five casinos in Atlantic City next Friday. Last week the union voted to call a strike if they cannot get a new labor contract by June 30th. The labor action would affect Caesars Entertainment’s three casinos, the Tropicana and Trump Taj Mahal.
