A Villas man has been charged in a incident that put five people in the hospital. 36 year old Anthony Friel of the 200 block of Matthews Avenue in the Villas section of Lower Township36 year old Anthony Friehl of the 200 block of Matthews Avenue in the Villas section of Lower Township was pulled over during a motor vehicle stop in Wildwood when he took off in his Nissan. Friel then drove his vehicle into a commercial truck at the corner of Fifth St. and Route 47 in Middle Township. Following that impact, the vehicle hit a bus shelter for New Jersey Transit. Three people were sent to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, and two went to Cape Regional Medical Center. Friehl has been charged with Eluding Police with a Motor Vehicle, a crime of the second degree and various motor vehicle offenses.  Bail has been set at $50,000 cash.  Additional charges are pending. The investigation is on-going.
