ABSECON WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO THEFT CHARGES

An Absecon woman pled guilty on Thursday to second-degree computer theft and faces three to five years in prison when she is sentenced in September, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel stated.

Mildred Zamot, 32, of Ohio Avenue, was an employee of Atlantic Gastroenterology Associates in Egg Harbor Township. During her plea hearing, she admitted that on May 14, 2009, she used a co-employees username and password without permission, to access the female victim’s medical records, and provided that information to the victim’s ex-husband. Zamot was terminated from her position prior to her Sept. 2, 2009 arrest. She was indicted on Feb. 17, 2010, according to Assistant Prosecutor Janet Gravitz, who represented the State.

The defendant is scheduled for sentencing on Sept. 2 before Superior Court Judge Max Baker.
