A.C. CASINO WINNINGS OFF 1.5 PERCENT IN SEPTEMBER

Gambling revenues took a hit in Atlantic City for September, in part due to the threat of Tropical Storm Hermine. The eight casinos in the city saw their revenues drop by 3.5 percent over September of last year. The Division of Gaming Enforcement blamed the dip on the Labor Day Weekend state of emergency that kept people away from the brick-and-mortar casinos, but internet gambling revenues for the month jumped by 35 percent over last year. Revenues at the Taj Mahal dropped by more that 50 percent as the casino was in it’s final days before closing in October.
