50 YEAR PRISON TERM GIVEN IN HOME INVASION MURDER

A home invasion turned murder has resulted in a long prison term. Jeremiah Jackson was given 50 years in jail for the murder of Ellis Spell Sr., of Pleasantville. The state prison term is subject to the No Early Release Act, meaning he must serve 85 percent of the sentenced before becoming eligible for parole. The incident took place on Dec. 9, 2011. Several days after the homicide, arrest warrants were signed for the Atlantic City man. On Jan. 20, 2012, the 21-year-old turned himself in to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
