1,000 POLICE BODY CAMS TO BE PROVIDED BY STATE

On Tuesday the state Attorney General’s Office announced they will provide $550,000 for local police departments to purchase 1,000 more body cameras. The grant will increase to more than 200 the number of local police departments that will be using body cameras on their patrols. State grants are awarded based on population, crime rates and various other factors.
