Lower Township, NJ, April 10, 2014 – The Lower Cape May Regional High School Class of 2014 will host a fundraiser on Saturday, May 3rd , to benefit the “Sign Legacy Project”. The event will be held at the Grand Hotel in Cape May from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and features a live concert by the popular Elton John Tribute Band “Bennie and the Jets”. Only 310 tickets will be sold, Hors D’Oeuvres and cash bar will be available.
Each graduating class of LCMR leaves a gift to the school representing their class. The class of 2014 gift, the “Sign Legacy Project”, consisting of six foot high back lit “LCMR” lettering on the Route 9 side of the high school, is designed to promote school spirit and to share that spirit with the community. At a cost of nearly $8,000, the school board approved project is the most ambitious class project in the school’s history. In addition to the concert event on May 3rd, the class is seeking sponsorships from local businesses to help raise money to complete the extraordinary project. Debbie Sundstrom, the class advisor shares her philosophy with her students, said “everyone who drives down Route 9 will be able to see the sign shining brightly and they will know that our students are proud of Lower Cape May Regional High School”. An unveiling ceremony is planned for the night of the class Baccalaureate in June.
