A 59 year old Atlantic County man lost his life Friday during a motor vehicle accident on Route 555 in Buena Vista Township. State Police say James Rago was killed when his SUV went off the roadway and struck a pole. Rago was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The federal government is spending $1 million to permanently protect some wetlands near the Tuckahoe Wildlife Management Area. NJ.com reports that the grant is being given by the feds to the state’s green acres program. More than 500 acres will be protected.

A 23 year old man from Absecon was killed early Sunday during a motor vehicle accident on Route 30 in Atlantic City. Police say Devante Schriver lost his life when his vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
Police in Brigantine are investigating a shooting early Monday that resulted in injuries. Police announced on their social media page that a shooting occurred on 13th Street north around 1:30am Monday; a man and woman are both hospitalized as a result of the shooting. The investigation continues.
